Various mechanisms are available at different levels to seek redressal for complaints related to Local Self-Government Institutions. Depending on the nature of the complaint, the appropriate mechanism can be approached.

1. Local Self-Government Ombudsman
OMBUDSMAN FOR LSGIS

The Local Self-Government Ombudsman is a high-level judicial mechanism for filing complaints against elected representatives or officials of Local Self-Government Institutions regarding corruption, irregularities, misuse of authority, and dereliction of duty.

2. Local Self-Government Tribunal
LSGI TRIBUNAL

The Local Self-Government Tribunal is a judicial mechanism for filing appeals against decisions and orders of the Panchayat administration or Secretary, rejection of licences, cancellation of building permits, and similar matters.

Delays or other difficulties experienced in Panchayat services can be brought directly to the attention of the Chief Minister through the online portal.

4. K-SMART Portal
K-SMART CITIZEN PORTAL

K-SMART is the online single-window system of the Local Self-Government Department. Complaints related to services can be submitted online without having to visit the Panchayat office directly.

5. Vigilance Department

Complaints can be directly submitted to the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau regarding demands for bribes, large-scale financial irregularities, and diversion or misuse of government funds that may occur in Panchayat offices.

Panchayat Level

Panchayat Secretary / President / Grievance Redressal Committee

For local disputes and delays in applications, first submit the complaint directly to these authorities and seek redressal.

District Level

Joint Director / Deputy Director (LSGD)

If a solution is not obtained at the Panchayat level, a complaint can be submitted to the Joint Director or Deputy Director, who are the district-level authorities.

Legal Level

Ombudsman / Tribunal

If officials deliberately violate the law, engage in corruption, or deny eligible services, these legal mechanisms can be approached.
